WinSCP is a program that can be used to copy data from MR-CAT computers to your Windows computer. It uses the secure copy protocol to go through the APS firewall.Safety
Online Experimental Safety FormsNOTE: We have moved to the APS Experimental Safety Approval Form (ESAF) submission system. All active, approved MR-CAT forms have been exported to the APS system and will remain active for their full term. Please check the APS site for status by logging in and searching on your badge number.Printing Safety Forms
All experiments performed at MRCAT must have an approved ESAF. ESAF's are submitted over the Web by authorized Principal Investigators and are reviewed by the MRCAT Safety Committee and the APS. An approved ESAF is active for 1 year.Active ESAFs may be printed only be authorized MR-CAT staff. Log in and search on the badge number of the experimenter, the sector (10), the approval status (Approved) and any other criteria you wish. Select the desired ESAF and press the "Generate Report" button. After printing, have the Verifier sign and then submit to the Floor Coordinator.APS Safety InformationAll MRCAT Users must follow APS Safety Guidelines. Please make sure to familiarize yourself with APS procedures. If you have any questions, please contact Carlo Segre, MRCAT Safety Coordinator.
MRCAT is a partnership of four universities (University of Notre Dame, Northwestern University, University of Florida and Illinois Institute of Technology, two Argonne National Laboratory Divisions (Chemical Technology and Environmental Research) and one company (BP). Each institutional member has a seat on the MRCAT Executive Committee, which is responsible for the operation of the CAT. The Executive Committee members are:
Director:   Bruce Bunker University of Notre Dame, Physics Department (bunker.1@nd.edu) Deputy Director:   Carlo Segre Illinois Institute of Technology , Physics Division (segre@iit.edu) Executive Committee Members:   Mark Davidson University of Florida , Microfabritech (mark@microfab.ufl.edu)   Pulak Dutta Northwestern University , Physics Department (pdutta@northwestern.edu)   Jim Kaduk BP Corporation (kadukja@bp.com)   Ken Kemner Argonne National Laboratory , Environmental Research Division (kemner@anl.gov)   Vic Maroni Argonne National Laboratory, Chemical Technology Division (maroni@cmt.anl.gov)
The MRCAT staff is responsible for developing and maintaining the experimental facilities at the MRCAT sector. The Beamline Scientists are also responsible for user support at MRCAT. The staff can be reached at APS Sector 10, Bldg. 433, beamline: (630.252.1710) or at the individual contact points listed below.
